Unlike the traditional DSLR, where the light entering the camera via the lens is reflected from a mirror to the sensor, Sony DSLRs have a fixed, semi-transparent mirror, so the light strikes the sensor directly. What distinguishes Sony DSLRs from all others is its fixed-mirror technology.
